Bruce groaned as he turned over on his bed, snuggling closer to the warm body lying next to him.
Before, he would have bolted from the bed, panicking as to who could be in his bed, but he was now used to waking up cuddled up to the other.
“You need to go to work.”
Bruce grumbled and closed his eyes shut, knowing that there was no way he was going to go back to sleep, but he did not want to go to work either.
Bruce sighed and sat up, running a hand through his messy hair. He glanced at his boyfriend, who was on his back, grinning up at him. Bruce reached over to pluck his glasses from the bedside table. It was still very much strange, using that word, boyfriend. Bed mate? Lover? God? Bruce mused but none of them really fit, so he decided to just stick with boyfriend.
“You are smiling too much, I am worried.” Bruce pressed his lips together, wondering just what the other had planned. Emerald eyes just blinked innocently up at him, causing Bruce to roll his eyes.
“Fine fine, do not tell me. I refuse to get you out of whatever mess you get yourself into this time.” Bruce stated, getting up from the bed and rummaging for something to wear. He didn’t use to have to worry about what to wear, but with his new boyfriend who materialized clothes into being, Bruce now could choose from different sets of clothes.
Of course most of his clothes were shades of green. It was weird wearing so much green when Bruce was green in the….inside? that sounded awkward. Loki loved green, it was easy to tell with the green uniform that the other wore all the time. Even when he wore other clothes, they were all green. Bruce had gotten used to it by now, all the green in his life.
It made Bruce wonder if Loki liked him because he was….green….
Bruce shook his head and grabbed some random clothes, deciding it was best to get ready before he was late to the meeting.
He then realized that it had been really quiet. He turned around and looked at Loki, who was just looking at him. Bruce blushed, badgering himself for still allowing Loki to fluster him.
“Have a good day at work, sweety.” Loki cooed, waving at him. Bruce shook his head, smiling in amusement as he rushed out of his room.
Bruce was suddenly finding himself, rushing out of the meeting place the moment he stepped in it. The alarm had gone off which met Avengers time. Bruce had really hoped that he wouldn’t have to go green, but it ended up being a job for the Hulk.
Hulk was happy. Hulk exercise. Hulk like fresh air.
Hulk was confused as to giant robots. They were no fun.
Bruce felt himself regaining control as his body returned to its normal size. He shuddered, feeling his body regaining its normal heartbeat and adrenaline rush lessening.
“Here you go Bruce!” Thor beamed, draping his cape over Bruce’s shoulders.
Bruce smiled in gratitude, wrapping the cape tightly around himself. It was really warm and it was so smooth. Bruce shuffle along with Thor as they reassembled with the others.
“I think you should wear just a cape more often.” Tony stated, waggling his eyebrows at Bruce, who just glared at him.
“I believe my brother would not find such a comment to be appropriate.” Thor frowned, shooting Tony a glare. Tony winced at the idea of having the trickster after him for flirting with his boyfriend.
“I think we really need to find clothes that will withstand the change.” Coulson stated with a sigh, watching as Bruce was drowned by Thor’s cape.
Bruce just smiled sheepishly.
Bruce made his way back to his room, ignoring the looks get got from being wrapped around Thor’s cape.
“What are you wearing?” Loki was suddenly there, in the room, looking affronted by what, apparently Bruce had chosen to wear…..because obviously wearing Thor’s cape had been a fashion choice.
“Thor let me borrow his cape to cover myself.” Bruce stated, with a shrug.
“It is Thor’s cape, two, it is red.” Loki clicked his tongue in distaste.
Bruce sighed because it shouldn’t be such a big deal that the cape was red, but it was to Loki.
“It is red, Thor wears red. It was just something for the moment. I’m changing now.” Bruce stated, trying to appease Loki.
Loki was still frowning, but it vanished the moment that Bruce dropped the cape to stand completely naked in the middle of the room.
Loki immediately tackled his doctor and proceeded to forget about the red cape….for the moment.
It was the next day that Bruce found himself staring into a slightly angry and exasperated God of Thunder. He was wearing his cape, but it was not red, instead it was a bright emerald green color.
“Well, it is a beautiful green color.” Bruce muttered, touching the cape gingerly.
“My brother has played one of his tricks. I wish for you to please get him to turn it back to its normal color.” Thor stated with a huff.
“Yes, sorry about that Thor, Loki really likes green.” Bruce stated, sheepishly.
He quickly made his way to his room later that day.
“Loki, it is not nice to turn your brother’s cape green. You know his cape is red.” Bruce said the moment he walked into his room.
“Yes, but now you don’t have to wear red!” loki exclaimed, and Bruce just shook his head and gave him a pointed look.
“Now, Loki, or you sleeping in the living room.” Bruce stated, crossing his arms.
“Fine fine, done.” Loki pouted, snapping his fingers.
Bruce should have seen it coming. He had messed with Tony’s coffee machine, because Tony had started it by messing up with Bruce’s lab equipment. Of course, Tony had to retaliate and it was done through Bruce’s shampoo.
Bruce now had blonde hair…..it was bleached to a blonde color and Bruce was horrified. He had never wanted to know how he would look with blonde hair. It was not his look at all. He could just imagine how he would look when he turned into Hulk. That would be horrible!
Bruce groaned and gingerly tugged at his hair. He walked out of the shower, only to see Loki flipping through a magazine. Loki looked up and Bruce had to admit that Loki’s face was priceless. His eyes widened and his mouth was just slightly open, before his eyes narrowed dangerously.
“Now Loki, it was just a stupid prank.” Bruce started, quickly going over to grab hold of Loki’s magazine.
“Your hair is bleached, look at it.” Loki grumbled, taking hold of Bruce’s wrist and tugging him down onto his lap.
“Yes, but that is why I have you around, to change it back to its normal color.” Bruce sighed, settling onto the other’s lap.
Loki ran a hand through Bruce’s hair, watching as the strands began to regain their normal color. Bruce sighed as he leaned into the caress, feeling the slight tingle of Loki’s magic working away at his hair.
“What do you say about changing your hair green?” Loki muttered teasingly.
“Hmm, I’ll say perhaps you should try it on Tony instead.” Bruce sighed, settling his head on Loki’s shoulder.
“Oh, I’ll turn more than his hair green.” Loki cackled.
Bruce grinned into Loki’s shoulder, looking forward to seeing Loki’s prank on the great Tony Stark.
It was beautiful.
Tony was completely green. His hair. His skin. His eyes. Completely green.
It was both horrifying to look at, but also really amusing.
Tony was not happy at all.
“Banner!” Tony hollered, storming over to where Bruce was. Bruce actually felt intimidated because he could see the rage in Tony’s…..green….eyes….Bruce had to stifle his laughter.
Bruce felt an arm wrap around his waist. He watched as Tony stilled, eye twitching.
“Freaking trickster gods.” Tony snarled before turning around and walking back to his room.
“I think that went great.” Clint stated, sipping at his coffee.
“I feel that Tony will never live this one down, ever.” Natasha smirked.
“I do have to agree and thank you Loki, because Tony definitely had that coming.” Coulson nodded to Loki, who had his smug smirk.
“You three need to stop encouraging him.” Bruce said but at that moment Thor stormed in and hugged Loki tightly.
“Brother! I have seen Tony and it was a genius prank! You have not lost your touch!”
Bruce decided to just not say anything.
Bruce winced as he looked at the bruise on his back. It had turned a sickly green.
His transformation had had a hitch and he ended up taking the brunt force of the impact. Hulk had taken control after that. Bruce still had the ugly and tender bruise. It wouldn’t last long but still….
Bruce turned to see Loki, slight worry in his eyes.
“Nothing, a bit slow on the transformation, that is all.” Bruce stated with a weak smile.
Loki sighed and reached over to touch the bruise.
Bruce hissed at the sudden pressure.
“That is a green that I can live without seeing on you.” Loki sighed, running his finger over Bruce’s bruise, causing the other to sigh when he felt the lessening pain.
“It is not completely healed, but I helped it along.” Loki muttered tugging Bruce over to the bed.
Bruce allowed himself to be discreetly fussed over because Loki, didn’t do fussing, according to him at least.
“Perhaps you should get Natasha a new pair of boots?” Bruce offered as he looked around the store.
It was Natasha’s birthday soon and he was looking around with Steve, for a present to give her.
“I don’t know what she would like.” Steve frowned, running a hand through his hair.
“That is true, since we just see in black, high heeled boots, with steel in them. Perhaps a knife hidden in it.” Bruce sighed, before looking over at the art supplies.
“I know, why don’t you draw her something.” Bruce nudged Steve over to the aisle.
“I don’t know….” Steve stated, gingerly touching the art supplies.
Bruce frowned when he suddenly caught the sight of something bright green. He rushed over to the stuffed animal section. There was a bright green wolf.
It made him think of Loki. Bruce snatched it up before turning back to see Steve smiling at him, knowingly.
“He really likes green.” Bruce shrugged causing Steve to laugh.
“I can tell.”
Bruce hadn’t seen Loki for a couple of days now and he was worried. Where had Loki gone off to? Especially without telling Bruce….
Bruce sighed as he sipped at his tea, allowing it to calm his nerves.
“Brother in law!” Thor sat next to him, smiling brightly. Bruce smiled back, because how could you not with that look?
“I have not seen Loki, I take it he is not back from his visit to Amora?” Thor asked him, but Bruce was confused.
“What do you mean? Who is Amora?” Bruce asked, and Thor launched into the story of Loki and Amora and the relationship that sort of was but never really was.
“Oh.” Bruce muttered, sipping at his tenth cup of tea…..or was it eleventh?
“Yes, I am surprised my brother did not tell you. He is rather private, isn’t he?” Thor mused.
Bruce just nodded, smiling weakly before excusing himself back to his room.
It was two days later that Loki finally showed up.
Bruce didn’t look up from reading the new science articles on gamma radiation.
“Don’t I get a kiss?” Loki raised an eyebrow, going over to pluck the magazine from Bruce’s hands.
“Give it back, Loki.” Bruce huffed, reaching up to take the magazine but Loki just pulled it up higher.
“I’m not in the mood Loki.” Bruce gritted his teeth, willing himself to relax.
“Now now, is that the way to greet your boyfriend?” Loki muttered, throwing the magazine somewhere across the room, beginning to lower himself on top of Bruce.
“If said boyfriend has been MIA and spending time with an ex-whatever that sorceress is to you…..yes.” Bruce muttered, pushing Loki away. Loki blinked in surprised, before chuckling.
“Are you jealous?” he teased, falling on to the bed, right next to Bruce.
Bruce just glared at him.
“No need to be jealous my jolly green giant.” Loki muttered, pulling Bruce down to lay next to him.
“Do not call me that.” Bruce huffed, allowing himself to be pulled down, but not relaxing into the embrace.
“Bruce, you know I’m with you and only you.” Loki muttered, running his hand through Bruce’s hair.
Bruce just sighed and relaxed to the embrace. He didn’t know. Did anyone know when it came to Loki? He decided to let it go. He didn’t want to fight.
Bruce had gone to help Reed, much to the dismay of the Avengers who didn’t want to loan Bruce off. He was their team member! However, Bruce packed up and went to help them.
Loki was there the whole time, keeping an eye on the team, making sure no one tried anything on Bruce. If he just saw anyone being too friendly, their hair would change colors in an instant. Especially when it was that Steve
Rogers look alike. Loki was keeping tabs on him. He just knew that the other was trying something!
“Don’t mind him.” Bruce smiled, but it did nothing to comfort the Fantastic Four.
At the end of his stay, Bruce wasn’t even done saying good-bye when Loki had them vanishing away.
“Really? I wasn’t done saying good bye!”
“Goodbyes lead to hugs and kisses and no thank you.” Loki huffed.
Bruce just sighed but he let it go, because he was getting used to Loki’s possessive ways. Besides, it wasn’t too much of a terrible thing.
Bruce yawned as he snuggled into the warm body next to him.
“Good morning.” Loki muttered, causing Bruce to open his eyes and peer at Loki. Bruce loved that beautiful emerald shine that Loki’s eyes had early in the morning.
“Morning.” Bruce muttered tiredly.
“Go back to sleep.” Loki smiled.
Bruce sighed and fell back to sleep. Loki also closed his eyes, tugging the green blanket around them, before falling back to sleep as well.
